![]() The only ways I've seen to manage my food/water gauge are A-Assumed limited items that you start with in the life pod and B-death.ĭistinctly lacking is any kind of tutorial or sign-post for what I am suppose to be doing. But in my brief, extremely frustrating time with game. O2 i can manage (swim up) Health I can manage (the pod spits out health kits). ![]() Its not terribly important though, since the games 'air refilling' mechanic is completely unrealistic, and there isn't any decompression sickness to worry about.I keep bouncing hard off this game. The extra tanks that take up inventory and slow you down are more like the extra tanks in Technical diving. To the OP, dual tanks in real life sciba diving are probably what the upgraded tanks are in game. The OP was talking about early game issues where he has to choose between more tanks and less speed/inventory, or more air for longer exploration times.you know, before you have a mobile base and a luxury vehicle. Well, to a guy who has a Cyclops and a Seamotth to explore, yeah, carrying multiple tanks probably isn't all that necessary. But I find even doing that I still have room since I like to return to get more air and save safely after some good blueprint scans. :) Now, if you're talking about scanning in extra fragments for the titanium. Almost everything is scanned in so I never needed the extra slots. I've found the wrecks were the one time where taking up inventory space with tanks wasn't an issue because rarely were there things that I needed to carry. I will admit that large wrecks would be more easily explored with multiple tanks rather than going back to my sub for air every 90 seconds or so, but honestly I'd rather take a little longer to get through the wreck than have my limited inventory space taken up by unnecessary additional air tanks. No depth penalty and 105 seconds of air is plenty of time for me to explore a bit outside of the seamoth or cyclops. I use one high capacity tank with a rebreather and that's it. ![]() Originally posted by Hillbilly_Dave:I honestly don't see the point of extra tanks at all. It's all a balancing act and how you like to play will determine your setup for your character. I tend to leave the seaglide behind because of how much room that takes. I understand what you mean about the inventory space. Also swimming on the surface is faster than under the water. Make sure you have fins and never swim carrying objects like the scanner. More speed and less air, or more air and less speed and inventory space. That way you have to make a tough choice. They want to penalize you for have extra air. They probably do this for game balancing issues. Maybe we should be able to have 2 tanks on our backs like in real life.īut im guessing you're correct. When i bring a 2nd tank i swim slow and cant carry as much stuff so i was thinking. But at the start of the game when i only have 1 tank its a little tricky. When I'm just resource gathering here and there, I go without the extras. When exploring caves and wrecks, I stock up. I have upgraded 5 tanks and depending on what I'm doing I either just go with the one I'm wearing or I add more as I need. I think you'll find though, if you want to carry extra tanks they are just going to take up the inventory space and slow you down because that's the cost taking extra oxygen.
